Situated Visions  (2025)

Image, a chosen vision, embodies a story written through traces of memory, place, and, often, guided by hope. A situated gaze constructs what must be remembered.

Transparency reveals its opposite: a biased, limited opacity — abstracted by the immediacy of screens and the fragmented multiplicity of present times. How are narratives woven, and how can we follow the invisible threads of unseen perspectives? If neutrality is ungraspable, and impermanence a state, can we rethink the act of seeing?
Exploring the institutional archive, once physical and protected, reveals its transformation into shared visual dimensions. Unknown realities are uncovered through local knowledge and the plurality of their names. The commons presents itself, webbed through the layers of geological rhythms and fractal dimensions, from satellite images to microcosms and human- shaped worlds.

‘Situated Visions’ presents a curated selection of visual materials, symbolising a gaze through gazes; bridging past, present, and contemporary imagery. The archive becomes a process for past- and future-making — celebrating what remains, what lies beyond, and what was once remembered but decayed into forgetting — a practice to be repaired.

The work was presented as part of the exhibition and event Room For– at Pasaje Montoya, Barcelona.
